Steroid epidurals that place steroid medication around irritated or inflamed nerves in the spine do help patients avoid surgery for a time. A simple injection of your own cells, by contrast, has less than a 0.1% risk while the results of a spine fusion cannot be reversed and are categorized as a high-risk procedure with little guarantee of success.
