We are proud to announce that our new Regenexx advanced stem cell lab as part of our medical practice in Colorado is close to being completed. This new facility will replace our existing advanced lab with more sophisticated clean room air handling and be located in the same building as our medical practice, reducing transit times for patient samples. This new lab will also serve as a state of the art, cell biology research facility with a Ph.D. research director working on improving our orthopedic stem cell procedures. The fact that we have an advanced lab as part of medical practice has always made us unique. Now we will be the only private medical practice in the U.S. (to our knowledge) that has an ISO-7 clean room lab as a feature of their medical practice. This new expansion will also allow us to add additional administrative space, including an educational center where we can teach other physicians how to practice ‘Interventional Orthopedics”. It will also mark the formal beginning of our bioengineering department where we are creating the tools of the future that will allow more patients to avoid traditional orthopedic surgery by expanding the types of procedures a doctor can perform through a needle. The upshot? While most medical practices offering any type of PRP or stem cell therapy in the U.S. use a one size fits all, simple bedside machine to process cells, our medical practice has a staff of expert cell biologists working in an advanced clean room facility. Chris Centeno, MD is a specialist in regenerative medicine and the new field of Interventional Orthopedics. Centeno pioneered orthopedic stem cell procedures in 2005 and is responsible for a large amount of the published research on stem cell use for orthopedic applications. View Profile
