Dr. Keley John Booth, MD, is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and has a vast clinical background in treating a wide variety of pain conditions. Dr. Booth is the President and CEO of Elite Pain & Health, a statewide Oklahoma-based Interventional Pain Management practice. Dr. Booth’s expertise is in the surgery-free treatment of painful spine and joint pain and injury.

As a native-born Oklahoman, Dr. Keley Booth shares a unique bond with the people of the great state of Oklahoma. His first experience with medicine came when he suffered a devasting football injury that left him partially paralyzed in his arm and hand as a teenager. Following a year-long medical journey to regain strength and function, the young Keley Booth was able to make a remarkable recovery. The dedication and care provided by the team of doctors and medical professionals left a lasting impression. Ultimately, this was the experience that would propel him toward a life in medicine. He chose to dedicate his career to helping patients with pain and musculoskeletal injury as did those that had helped him during a difficult time in his life.

During his undergraduate coursework, Keley Booth participated in research and externship programs across Texas and Louisiana. Research programs included Endonuclease research at the Lousiana State University Department of Biochemistry. The following summer, as part of a Robert Wood Johnson Medical Internship Program at the Houston Medical Center, Booth attended advanced courses at Rice University. Following this, he completed an externship program in Physical Medicine with the Baylor College of Medicine at the Spinal Cord Injury Unit of the VA Medical Center of Houston. The following summer, immediately preceding medical school, Booth completed a Research Externship at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Physiology. While at Texas Tech, he performed cardiac cell culturing and studied the preconditioning of cardiomyocytes.

Following graduation from undergraduate studies in Oklahoma with degrees chemistry and biology, Dr. Booth obtained his medical doctorate (M.D.) from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. During medical school, he had the opportunity to participate in many complex surgical and anesthesia cases and ultimately chose to pursue the sub-specialty of Anesthesiology. The opportunity to utilize advanced technology to treat patients, alleviate chronic pain, and care for patients in surgical settings matched perfectly with Dr. Booth’s interests and talents.

Throughout his education and career, Dr. Booth has been heavily involved in the advancement, integration, and deployment of medical information systems. His experiences have allowed him to lead and participate in the development of a vast array of information technology and software development projects. Having managed projects totaling in the millions of dollars, he has a unique perspective on the integration of technology for the advancement of clinical care delivery.

Shortly after completing residency, Dr. Booth advanced to the position of Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine for the eighth largest hospital in the state of Oklahoma. During his time in hospital executive leadership, he fulfilled roles as Vice President of Medical Staff, President-Elect of Medical Staff, and held positions on more than a dozen critical multi-hospital committees and task forces. Committee membership and participation included the Medical Executive Committee, Patient Safety, Facility and Finance, Utilization, Informatics, Trauma, Perioperative Services, and Credentialing. Also, Dr. Booth played a vital role in the opening of a brand new, full-service hospital facility surgical and obstetrics department. Dr. Booth also was the President and CEO of a private practice twelve physician anesthesiology professional group in addition to his duties with the hospital.

Throughout a 15-year clinical practice, Dr. Booth has not just practiced medicine but has endeavored to improve healthcare for patients. Whether through the countless hours of participation in clinical leadership or providing care directly to his patients, he is always focused on patient-centered delivery of care. Dr. Booth has personally treated approximately twenty thousand patients during his career as a physician.

In 2016, Dr. Booth launched a comprehensive outpatient interventional pain practice based in Oklahoma City. Leveraging his hard-won administrative skills and vast clinical experience, Elite Pain & Health has become a leading multi-specialist spine and joint pain management clinic in Oklahoma. Elite operates three full-service interventional clinics in Oklahoma. In the future, Dr. Booth’s team plans to provide many more patients with high quality and conveniently located option for complete musculoskeletal pain care.
