Dr. Bashir Opens Regenexx Miami!
Six years ago we began the world’s first fellowship program in Interventional Orthopedics highlighting regenerative medicine. Dr. Bashir, one of our fellows, just opened his own Regenexx practice in Miami. So this morning, I’d like to highlight Dr. Bashir and our fellowship in general.
The Centeno-Schultz-Regenexx Fellowship Program
Most physicians using stem cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP) to treat orthopedic injuries have never had any formal training. Meaning, this isn’t something that they get taught in medical school, internship, residency, or fellowship. They basically learn what they know from a weekend course. To fill that gap, we along with other physicians began the Interventional Orthopedic Foundation (IOF). IOF offers the most comprehensive coursework and hands on training in Interventional Orthopedics available. As an example, if you want to complete the IOF program from stem to stern, you need to dedicate a few hundred hours of your time. However, if you want to go still further, then you enter a Regenexx fellowship program.
Our fellows get a unique experience as they can focus on orthobiologics like platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cells. They also get experience with hundreds of interventional orthopedic procedures. In addition, they’re also required to spend time performing and publishing research. In short, they’re some of the best-trained physicians using orthobiologics to treat orthopedic conditions using precise imaged guided procedures on the face of the earth.
