Regenexx is the only regenerative orthopedic procedure in America that has insurance coverage through self-funded employers. Self-funded simply means the employer assumes the financial risk for providing health care benefits to its employees, which allows them more flexibility in what they choose to cover. And that means you, as an employee, can use your insurance for coverage on procedures like Regenexx.
Currently, Regenexx refers approximately 1 in 3 patients to our national network of providers who had coverage. So, those 1 in 3 patients who wanted a procedure used their insurance via their self-funded employer. If you work at a medium-sized or larger company, it’s more likely than not that your employer is “self-insured”.

What about health insurance or medical benefits? What may be covered or reimbursed depends on the details of your plan. Insurance typically covers evaluations and diagnostic testing (if recommended) but most do not cover Regenexx Procedures. Some Employer specific Regenexx Benefits plans do also cover Regenexx Procedures. Your plan’s representative can help verify your benefits, out-of-pocket costs, and coverage.
