Elbow Pain Treatments in Vancouver, WA

Your Alternative to Elbow Surgery

Have you been told that steroid injections or invasive surgery are your only options to treat your elbow pain? Interventional orthopedics provides a non-surgical alternative that uses your own cells to repair the damage.

The elbow can be the site of pain generation for a number of reasons. The most common is tennis or golfer’s elbow, but other issues such as UCL injury or arthritis also occur. Common surgical interventions lead to considerable downtime. Treating elbow injuries with steroid injections reduces inflammation in the site of an injury and causes the degeneration of cells at the site of the injection and over time actually leads to significant worsening of the condition. In addition, we have little solid scientific evidence that elbow surgery helps, but we do know it’s invasive and has the potential of infection, tissue damage, pain and nerve injury.

At Regenexx we invented a new approach to orthopedic care we call Interventional Orthopedics. This approach involves the use of image guidance(flouroscopy and ultrasound) to precisely place high-dose cells from your body directly where they are needed in a specific joint structure. These cells then work in the site of your injury to grow into new, healthy tissue, a process that will only occur if the cells have been placed exactly where they need to go in order to achieve positive outcomes for the patient. This precise approach to orthopedic care can’t be replicated by a surgeon or nurse in a chiropractor’s office. Interventional Orthopedics requires thousands of hours of training following a standardized protocol process to become a licensed Regenexx physician.

If you’re experiencing elbow pain, Regenexx procedures are likely an excellent treatment option. The innovative Regenexx procedures restore elbow function and decrease pain without the need for surgery by regenerating damaged tissue. During these outpatient procedures, our expert physicians use precise image guidance to inject custom concentrations of your body’s natural healing mechanisms into the exact areas of damage to tighten and stabilize your elbow joint for better function and mobility.

This page contains an extensive library of educational resources on elbow conditions and our patented elbow procedures created by Regenexx and our founder, Chris Centeno, M.D.. We encourage you to research your options.

I was born and raised in the farmlands of Iowa. I completed a BS degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. From there I moved on to medical school at Loma Linda University completing a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation and a fellowship in pain management. I am board certified in each and have been in private practice for the past 15 years. I decided to make the change to regenerative medicine in 2022 after I herniated my C6-7 disc to the left with severe nerve root compression with significant pain, numbness as well as some weakness. I was going to have surgery but Dr. Jamie Lewis convinced me to have a treatment using Regenexx injectates as I waited. Turned out that I never needed the surgery as the platelet lysate injection series stopped the pain and woke up the arm. Now I have no sensation loss or strength loss. I was aware of PRP treatments but I had no idea of the benefits that could be achieved even with my severe nerve root compression from a disc herniation. I have been studying, training and performing regenerative treatments since then and am thankful to be able to provide those same procedures using Regenexx injectates to my patients.
