The McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is one of the most high energy university research centers in the world. You may have heard of their success with producing a biologic scaffold used to regenerate fingertips or perhaps their recent development of “skin shooter” that sprays stem cells onto a wound to grow new skin. Dr. Centeno was honored to accept their invitation to speak on April 21st. He will be lecturing on the use of autologous cultured mesenchymal stem cells to treat knee and hip osteoarthritis using a Bayesian registry approach.
