Only a Small Response to Regenexx-SD for Knee Patellofemoral Syndrome
We believe in transparency. Stem cell procedures for orthopedics aren’t magic and sometimes they fail or produce less than stellar results. MD is a 53 year old previously very active runner/biker who sought our advice about knee patellofemoral syndrome with chronic pain in February of this year. He had cartilage loss under the knee cap and was deemed a fair candidate for a same day stem cell procedure and a good candidate for the cultured procedure. He also had significant back pain with irritated low back nerves. MD is now about 7 months out from a same day stem cell procedure (Regenexx-SD) and only reports about 15% improvement. I have advised him he would likely need a cultured procedure given the amount of cartilage damage on his imaging. His low back had a different response, where he had had complete and robust resolution after a single Regenexx-PL-Disc procedure. The upshot? A good clinic is comfortable discussing the treatment successes and the failures.
