Regenexx Achieves a Major Covered Patient Milestone

Regenexx is the only network of physicians offering orthobiologics that has legitimate insurance coverage. Last month in June, we reached a major milestone in covered patients. Let’s dive in.

Regenexx Corporate

The Regenexx corporate program is designed to allow employers to add interventional orthobiologics procedures to their health plans. What’s in it for them? They can save a significant amount of money by moving patients from invasive surgeries to less invasive precise injection procedures. The employees also get to benefit from quicker recovery and avoiding invasive surgery. To learn more, see the video below:

Our Provider Network

One of the problems with self-insured health plans adding platelets and stem cells is that there is no standardization of anything. Each provider uses different stuff to inject using vastly different methods and procedures. In addition, for this relationship between the employer and provider to work, using orthobiologics has to reduce costs for the employer and not add to them. For example, adding in stem cells to an existing surgery is cost-plus while using a less invasive stem cell injection to get rid of the need for the surgery is cost minus. Hence, orthobiologics rarely get any type of insurance coverage.

Regenexx has taken the opposite approach of the wild west. We have almost 60 sites across the U.S. who are all trained on the same procedures and use the exact same biologic injectates. These sites must track their outcomes in our registry. The goal of every clinic us to use precise orthobiologic injections to replace the need for more invasive surgeries.

Corporate Referrals

The employees covered by our corporate program have FULL coverage for all Regenexx procedures. Meaning the provider is paid by Regenexx who is paid by the employer. Hence, for the patient, instead of paying for their PRP or stem cell procedures cash, these are covered by their “insurance”.

A Major Milestone

Our company reached a major milestone in June. After furiously signing up hundreds of self-insured companies for years, approximately 1 in 3 of the national referrals to our providers had coverage. That means that 1 in 3 of the patients who wanted a procedure used their insurance.

Adding Regenexx Procedures To Your Company

If you work at a medium-sized or larger company, it’s more likely than not that your employer is “self-insured”. That means that they pay the bills associated with their healthcare. They may use a provider network, but unlike a smaller company that pays a premium, they write the checks.

If you’re interested in having your employer add Regenexx, please call 877-341-5698.

The upshot? Regenexx has hit a big milestone by having 1 in 3 of the patients we send to our provider network with insurance coverage for our procedures. Given that our corporate referrals to providers continue to grow, we’re looking forward to getting to the next milestone or 50% of the national referrals we make having coverage!
