Sometimes it Just Hits You-The Knee Pain is Gone!

knee stem cell procedure

PA is a 60 year old dentist who first noted significant lateral knee problems on the right side in 2010. This left him unable to do many of the activities he enjoyed like weight training, running, and playing with his son. His MRI showed a posterolateral meniscus tear with adjoining cartilage injury that seemed to be causing his pain (he also had a trochlear groove cartilage injury that didn’t seem symptomatic). On top of that, he had an irritated nerve in his low back overlying this problem. Because of the focal meniscus/cartilage lesion he was deemed a good candidate for our same day knee stem cell procedure. The patient was treated on 3/14/12 with the Regenexx-SD stem cell procedure with very specific placement under both ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance into the posterior-lateral meniscus tears and into the joint. In addition, his S1 irritated low back nerve was treated via the Regenexx-PL Disc procedure. Here’s his 3-4 month outcome report:

“Well, as far as my knee is concerned I think you hit another home run!! (or at least a triple!!).  My knee is significantly  better than it was before seeing you.  This week I was at the swimming pool with my son and we were going down the water slide.  As I was climbing the steps to the slide it dawned on me that last year when I climbed those stairs I had quite a bit of pain but this year none!!!  Another significant improvement that I’ve noticed is when riding my bicycle.  I used to have quite a bit of pain when I would try to peddle with my left leg (I would actually do all the work with my right leg and my left one would just “go along for the ride” if you know what I mean). Since having the stem cell procedure I can peddle with equal force from my right and left leg!   It’s really great!!

Thank you so much Dr. Centeno for improving my quality of life significantly!!!”

We’re happy to help PA and others like him avoid more invasive surgical procedures!
