Avoid Wrist Surgery with Regenexx

The triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is responsible for the use of our opposable thumbs and wear or injury can lead to wrist pain and swelling. In many cases, the recommended treatment for chronic TFCC problems is a surgery that involves shortening the ulna, the arm bone leading to the wrist, in order to reduce pressure. Research shows that this surgery, far from being a helpful long-term solution, actually leads to an increase in negative forces in the wrist that lead to future injuries. Beyond that, significant complications have been found in nearly 50% of patients following surgery.

During this outpatient procedure, our expert physicians use precise image guidance to inject custom concentrations of your body’s natural healing agents into the exact areas of injury in the TFCC to reduce pain and discomfort and to restore function. Best of all, your downtime will be a fraction of surgery and little to no time off of work. Call our patient care coordinators today to get started on your path to recovery.
